Kids' Photography

During our family recreation, I've always taken photos. I stumbled across my love of photography before digital cameras were common, and when they began to take over for SLRs, I was thrilled! Now that the kiddos are discovering the joys of family photography, I'm excited all over again.

Here are some of their pictures, displayed to illustrate their unique viewpoints and their growth. Son D's are on the right; Daughter E's are on the left -- notice how D likes landscapes (and self-portraits); E prefers micro-cosms and me (we have a number of pictures with my head cut off). pink shooting stars

mushroom bridge You might notice that I have these same mushrooms in one of my pictures below in our photo gallery. The difference in their appearance has to do with camera quality (that's a big part) and also how close we got while taking the picture.

For me, family photography simply means spending time with my family and taking tons of pictures. Most of my pictures are of my kids and my husband, but I also enjoy the beauty of nature. This part of our photo gallery is a sampling of the types of pictures I take -- many of them are smaller views rather than sweeping vistas -- Colorado flora and fauna. I like looking at the pieces of the whole.

You might wonder how hard it is to take pictures that turn out well -- not hard at all! With a decent camera (mine was mid- to top-range for digital cameras -- it's not a digital SLR, though I'd like one someday), anyone can learn to take good photos. It's all a matter of looking.

I'll add to our photo gallery as time goes on. If you see any pictures on this site (this page or elsewhere) which you would like to purchase, please don't hesitate to contact me. Although I sell through Cafepress, I also can make and mat prints on my own (and often do for friends and family).
